Japan's top currency diplomat Atsushi Mimura on Monday denied a report in the Yomiuri newspaper that cited U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent as saying during a bilateral meeting with Japanese Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato in Washington that a weak dollar and a strong yen are desirable.
